Why Live in Sachse
Situated between the President George Bush Turnpike and Lake Lavon, Sachse (SACK-see) is a Dallas suburb on the outer edges of the DFW Metroplex. “When I started in 2004 we were a population of 10,000,” says Lance Whitworth, Director of Leisure Services for the City of Sachse. “Now we’re 30,000. And like other cities in North Dallas and Collins County, it’s grown quite a bit.” Sachse is rapidly increasing its services to meet demand, with new parks, additional recreation center programming and expanded library services. Its location on the eastern edge of the Metroplex gives Sachse a rare and increasingly appealing mix of rural and suburban. Architectural styles vary, but homes tend to have mid-sized lawns, a tree or two in the front yard and a sidewalk out front. Three-bedroom ranch-styles are common, and they begin at $225,000. Other homes cluster in newer developments, including Woodbridge, a golfing community, Idlewild Estates and The Station. The four- and five-bedroom homes in these communities are modern builds, and often have Tudor or Craftsman features. They range from about $400,000 to $749,000. New townhouse communities cluster near State Highway 78 and President Bush
