I hope this review helps a parent make an informed decision/helps the school identify some areas for professional development. My child attended Shenandoah for 5th grade, and it was terrible. They tolerate bullying and will coerce your child into saying they provoked it. My child got hurt several times, and I wasn't contacted. One of my child's teachers discussed with the kids how she had two moms growing up; I don't have a problem with this, but I know some parents that would not be happy about that. My child's teacher Dana Morgan, was the most unprofessional/petty teacher I've ever met and shouldn't be instructing elementary-aged children. Her inability to communicate with parents is unacceptable, and she doesn't respond to messages or emails. Avoid the teacher or the school altogether, especially if your child has issues with bullies or if you want to be notified when they get hurt at school. One positive note: the lady at the front desk is always helpful and nice.

Great public neighborhood school. PTA is a serious deal but that what helps making the school so special and competitive with private schools in Baton Rouge area. Their gifted & talented program is amazing thanks to their amazing teacher! I wish all classes would be as interactive and exciting.
