I like the classes they're fun and my teachers are nice. I also like the block schedule it takes a load off of me. The only thing i don't like about the block schedule is that classes are pretty long and i usually finish all my work early, so when there's still 30 to 40 minutes of class left i'm kinda board. But other than that my overall experience is good.

At Gulf Shores High School, there is an incredible arts and drama program. The culture of the school is a bit lacking, being completely surrounded by football season and not giving much recognition for other sports or activities. There are many great clubs, but the classes seem to be lacking behind national averages or class standards, such as what we are supposed to read and learn.

Athletic programs are strong and offer variety. Since leaving the county system, Gulf Shores High School has made MAJOR steps towards academics and athletics due to support from the City and local business owners! There are almost 30 elective courses, many dual enrollment courses, more support for fine arts and so many common sense career courses...

Since becoming a new system, GS has made great strides in creating an excellent environment for students. New programs, academies, and classes are just the beginning. My children will have the foundation they need to excel at the next level thanks to GSHS.
