My experience with Proviso West High School was not at all what I expected. I dread walking in my school everyday. The students run around like animals and administrators worry about disciplining kids more than trying to help them succeed. When it was time for me to start applying to schools and scholarships I had almost no help from the counselors. I'm hoping that after I graduate they'll be able to at least help the students prepare for life outside of high school.

There is teachers who like to teach but there are some that don't teach at our level, instead they teach middle school work, and it messes student up for next year.

This is not a good school. Unfortunately I must say it’s the students. Their lack of care towards their education and environment leads to the teachers to care less and you can see it everyday. Don’t get me started on the drug problem.

Lunch lady's are rude when ordering food. The food was horrible by the way. Kids fight nonstop for fun some things can lead to death or serious injury. This is not a school. It's a prison

This is only a good school if you go in there with a positive attitude and enroll in all of the Honor/AP courses that are available. That is what I did and I made it to the top 10. Take ACT Prep and get involved. Other than that, stay out of trouble!
