This public High School opened for classes in 1926 and is named after the 28th president of the United States. The beautiful, 2-block campus is built surrounding an open courtyard.
Woodrow Wilson High School offers students five distinct “Pathways”, Vision of Excellence, School of the Arts, School of Leadership & Public Service, School of Medicine & Biotechnology, and School of Technology. Each of these pathways is tailored to the student's goals, competencies, and interests to keep learning engaging and results-oriented.
Wilson High is also the only public High School in Long Beach that offers a “Classic Diploma”, which signifies a higher standard of learning with visual arts and language requirements. Your student will have that “college edge” at Wilson.
Academically, students perform lower than average in math but higher in reading. The student-to-teacher ratio is 26 to 1 is higher than both the state and national average. The school has a 92% graduation rate, with most four-year college-bound students enrolling in Cal State Long Beach and UCLA.

It has been a great experience! I love the school spirit that is offered. I love how supportive everyone is of others. Especially how of how supportive teachers are towards student! And they offer lots of great resources.

The school isn't the worst in the LBUSD but certainly not the best. For the most part, the faculty is sub-par at best, the students are insufferable, and you can't go a day without the fire alarm. But if you can find the area of the campus society that you resonate with and find a teacher and class you click with the best, things aren't so bad. It's not my favorite place, but I wouldn't trade it for another school - not even Poly.
