SAHS can either be amazing or challenging. You get provided with a lot of opportunities, but only if you're looking for them. Student involvement is very low. Some teachers are amazing and the most helpful people, others just aren't. Our athletic programs are interesting, some do well, others don't. However, our artistic programs, like speech and music, do quite well.

I don't think I have the words to express how much I feel as though this school just does not care. The only students that are cared for well are athletes or students in the arts. It is unbelievably unfair that students who grew up in Skowhegan are treated substantially better than ones who are not, such as myself. It was hard to connect to people as I felt that no one cared about school and I did not feel as though their academics are good at all.

One of the best parts about my experience at Skowhegan Area High School was all of the college courses I was able to take that were all paid for by the Somerset Career and Technical Center, which is connected to the High School. A bad experience for me was that some of the kids are not well monitored and are doing some things that are against the school rules while being at the school.
