Why Live in Strasburg
Strasburg is a small community in Franklin Township. Pioneers began settling in the area in the early 1800s, and by the late 1800s, railroads enabled brickmakers and loggers to transport goods. Today, the population has grown to nearly 3,000 residents, and it is home to some manufacturing industries and locally owned businesses. “Strasburg is a fairly rural area with a few modern conveniences,” says Aaron Miller, a Realtor with Kaufman Realty & Auctions, who has lived in the region for his entire life. “There are enough stores in the village that you can get what you need, and you’ve also got close proximity to Interstate 77 for access to Canton, Dover and New Philadelphia.” Streetscapes and housing styles vary throughout the area. A grid of streets with sidewalks forms the village center, where farmhouses and bungalows from the early-to-mid 1900s rest relatively close together. Farther from the center, wide, grassy lawns line the curving streets, and private driveways separate late 1900s ranch-style homes and split-levels. There are also more rural sections of the community with multiacre residential lots next to farmland or open fields. Homes in Strasburg often sell from
