Why Live in Wrightstown

Thirty-seven miles east of Philadelphia, Wrightstown is a New Jersey borough in Burlington County, just outside Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst. "Most of the people in Wrightstown are military or civilians working on the base," says Freda Gorma, municipal clerk of Wrightstown. "It's a suburban feel but very heavy on business and rentals." The borough is less than 2 square miles, so amenities are limited, except for a diverse range of casual restaurants. "It's a small town," Gorma says. "A lot of people seem to know each other, but you also have that rental and military aspect of more transient people living here." Wrightstown's single-family homes were built during the mid to late 20th century and are generally ranch-style or Colonial-inspired, with most varying door-to-door in color, shape and size. Residential streets are typically lined with sidewalks, traditional mailboxes and lawns dotted by mature oaks and maples. Street parking and uncovered driveways are typical, but there are also a handful of attached garages. Some properties are bordered with chain-link fencing, and many feature covered porches or patios. Homes rarely go on the market, but prices range from about
