Luxury living in one of the first residential high-rises in Nomad

Twenty9th Park Madison was one of Nomad's first luxury high-rise residential condominiums. “The area is now a thriving neighborhood where families and professionals choose to live, just north of Madison Square Park,” says Abigail Godfrey, licensed real estate broker on The Eleonora Srugo Team at Douglas Elliman. “In the last ten years, it has become a hub for new condo developments.” But what makes this one stand out among many now in the neighborhood? Besides notoriety for its hotel-like services and lavish amenities suite, Twenty9th Park Madison is known for its striking glass curtain wall facade and double-height, cubed lobby designed by HTO Architect and completed in 2009. “It is the tallest glass tower in the area, so when it was built, it changed Nomad’s skyline,” says Godfrey. “Since then, it has stood the test of time as the epitome of luxury residential living in this neighborhood.”

Floor-to-ceiling windows with full-height drapes and spacious open floor plans

Through floor-to-ceiling windows adorned with translucent full-length drapes, vistas of upper and lower Manhattan grace each residence with a live backdrop of New York City. Sweeping nine-foot ceilings and light hardwood flooring complement the open kitchens with high-end appliances, Carrara marble countertops and wenge wood veneer custom cabinetry. Bathrooms are outfitted with rain showers, soaking tubs, toilets with bidets and double vanities with bespoke built-in storage. With 141 residences across 34 stories, the tower offers primarily one- and two-bedrooms with about a dozen studios and ten three-bedrooms. A studio on a lower level with a space-optimized layout with two storage closets last sold for $875,000 in 2024. Meanwhile, a two-bedroom penthouse with a 28 by 30-foot open-concept living space and a bespoke temperature zone wine cooler was recently listed for $3.8 million. The grandest of listings, a four-bedroom residence made up of two combined units on the 11th floor with a suburb-sized primary suite, last sold for $3.1 million in 2020.

Hotel-like amenities and services, including rooftop cabanas and a concierge

“Minus the room service, living at Twenty9th Park Madison is almost like living at a hotel,” says Godfrey. The high-rise condominium is a full-service luxury building with a 24-hour door attendant, a live-in superintendent and a round-the-clock concierge. The full-time staff are well-equipped to assist with mundane tasks like dry cleaning and more involved services like securing restaurant reservations. The fitness center is well-equipped and frequently used, and includes a movement studio for yoga and barre. The premises have two private green spaces: a landscaped courtyard with bistro seating and a rooftop lounge with cabana-like “outdoor rooms.” “The rooftop in the middle of Manhattan has the best lower and upper Manhattan views,” says Godfrey. Bike and cold storage are available upon request. Parking is the third-party next-door lot, which can be conveniently accessed via a private entrance just for residents.

Frills and fuss in Nomad, including The Ritz Carlton’s rooftop bar, Nubeluz

Twenty9th Park Madison is just three blocks from Madison Square Park in Nomad— a district once only known for business that has since become a cultural destination for dining, shopping and entertainment. For a fancy night out, the rooftop bar at The Ritz Carlton, Nubeluz, offers picturesque views of Manhattan with cocktails by Chef José Andrés. The area is known for its high-end furniture showrooms, including Poliform, DDC Domus Design Collection and B&B Italia. Fashion enthusiasts flock to Dover Street Market, just a block down on 30th Street, an eight-floor luxury department store that looks more like an art installation than a shop. For groceries, residents can pop by the neighborhood markets, including Whole Foods on 28th Street, Trader Joe’s on 32nd Street and Fairway on 2nd Avenue.

The 6 train around the corner and multiple lines along 28th street

Residents can walk out the front door and around the corner to 28th Street at Park Avenue South to access the 6 train. Additionally, two other MTA stations along 28th Street service the 1, 2, N, Q, R and W lines. For those with cars parked next door, the midtown tunnel is “literally five streets away,” says Godfrey. “It’s easy to get out of town and go to The Hamptons.”

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
