Scates Park has a playground with an overhead awning that provides plenty of shade for playtime on sunnier days. The neighborhood is also not too far from Crestwood Park, less than two miles away in nearby Terrell Hills. In addition to its green space, this park is a major draw for community events such as Easter egg hunts, holiday parades and pictures with Santa.
The area is great for commuters because it has convenient highway access via the Texas 368 Loop, which runs directly through the area. It is a major thruway that leads to many prominent San Antonio landmarks such as the San Antonio Zoo and historic Brackenridge Park.
