Sonia Quarters is an established neighborhood

From back-to-school giveaways to day camps for seniors, Sonia Quarters is full of churches and ministries providing programs that aim to help their neighbors. In addition to a dozen houses of worship, the Alexandria neighborhood is home to Alma Redwine Elementary School, so neighborhood kids can walk to school. “It’s an old, established neighborhood. There’s definitely still a good bit of the older generation there,” says Iris Barron, a Realtor with Rhodes Realty, who has been selling houses in the area for two years. “It’s probably one of the least expensive neighborhoods in Alexandria. You can find houses between $15,000 and $40,000.”
