A secluded neighborhood rooted in history
Nicknamed 'The Keystone State' because of its vital part in American history, Pennsylvania holds many towns rooted in the past. The history of this state is in its architecture, traditions and preserved lands, and the neighborhood of Ruscombmanor is no exception. Settled in 1749, this town offers lots of land per person, competitive schooling and a community set on preserving its history. Many residents may live here for its seclusion and distance from modern-day disturbances like traffic, noise pollution and crowded spaces. Locals can enjoy a very intentional and slower way of life in Ruscombmanor.

Colonial Revivals and lots of land
Surrounded by mostly farmland neighborhoods, Ruscombmanor is the heavily wooded exception. While some historic homes still sit on tillable plots, most new homes sit on a few acres in the small pockets of developments hidden among the trees. Playgrounds, pools and intricate landscaping are popular on the well-manicured lawns of Colonial Revivals and modern Craftsman mansions. These 5-plus bedroom homes, and even some large pre-World War II dwellings, can be found for upwards of $650,000, while ranches built in the middle of the 1900s usually sit around $300,000. Ruscombmanor homes are rarely for sale and often sell for well above the national average. "The historic homes of the area are often passed down through many generations," says Nelson Oswald, Realtor and vice president of the commercial division for Homesale Realty of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. "There are many roots to what we call the Pennsylvania Dutch in the area who came here in the 1700s," and one can see the German roots in the names of many parks and landmarks of Ruscombmanor. Buyers looking for established homes on large properties can also buy $1 million rustic farmhouses that feature detached garages, barns, workspaces, and covered spaces for cattle.
