Come for the park, stay for the convenience
While the namesake park steals the show, Russian Jack Park is an Anchorage neighborhood known for its convenience and many amenities. "There's some hiking that people do in the park. There are softball fields nearby, so it's definitely close to recreation," says Gail Dossman-Tolliver, an associate broker with Jack White Real Estate who has sold several homes in the neighborhood. "Proximity to schools is a big draw. It's really close to the military installation. As far as transportation, there are bus routes in the neighborhood." Located just south of Glenn Highway and north of Northern Lights Boulevard, residents of this community are just minutes from shopping, dining and recreation. The neighborhood has a colorful past, as it's named after a bootlegger and once served as a prison farm, but today, it is a quiet community with midcentury homes that features one of Anchorage's most popular parks.

I love living in this neighborhood and have almost never felt threatened while living here. I grew up in this neighborhood, I would never want to grow up any where else. I have very fond memories or riding my bike around the block, dancing in sprinklers and even learning how to skateboard with my dad. The housing could have been a little better but I am overall very satisfied.
