The perfect combination of what Denver and Arvada offer

Residents might think “best blend” would be reserved for wine or coffee, but local real estate agents agree that Berkley takes the cake when it comes to winning combinations. “You get the best of both Arvada and Denver,” says Realtor Sam Neumann. “And the highways make it easy to access both.” Split into quads by the intersection of Interstate 76 and Route 287, Berkley residents can easily enjoy the cultural offerings of both popular cities.

From affordable mobile homes to million-dollar lakefront homes

Berkley’s housing stock also presents the best of both worlds. From more affordable mobile homes to million-dollar lakeside estates, there’s something for almost every budget. Homebuyers will find colorful bungalows and split levels that cascade down sloping streets, as well as contemporary apartment buildings that rise against the mountain backdrop. Some subdivisions offer a more planned aesthetic, with stocky Craftsman builds set on wide lots connected by clean sidewalks. On the shores of Hidden Lake, homes are tucked into neat cul-de-sacs with tremendous views of Westminster High School’s rounded façade across the water. With recent, high-end developments like Berkley Shores popping up, home values have been steadily increasing here, although the pure variety of sizes and styles keeps prices within range for most. Homebuyers could be looking at anything from a mobile home for between $100,000 and $200,000 to a lakeside retreat with a private dock that soars past $2 million. Homebuyers will also find streets lined with colorful bungalows going for between $300,000 and $400,000 and new-traditional homes going for between $700,000 and $1.1 million. But that’s part of what makes Berkley special: “It’s got a little bit of everything,” Neumann says.

Grab a glass of wine at Spero Winery or a spread of Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai from Woody’s

On the weekends, time is always well-spent at Spero Winery. Located in a quaint, stone-clad house surrounded by flowering shrubs, this family-owned and operated winery has served award-winning wines made with Italian grapes for more than 20 years. Try their sweet pomegranate white wine for something unique or indulge in a glass of rich plum dessert wine. And if visitors come on Saturday, they can participate in a free wine tasting. For a hearty dinner, some head to Woody’s Wings N Things, which, surprisingly, serves a spread of Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai dishes. And for a home-cooked meal with all the fixings, locals can grab groceries from King Soopers nearby.

80 acres of space at Clear Creek Valley Park

Berkley’s variety doesn’t stop there. Residents find endless opportunities at the area’s parks, the largest and newest of which is Clear Creek Valley Park. At 80 acres, this park is making a name for itself as a community gathering place. Kids can scurry like ants around the unique, larger-than-life garden-themed playscape, weaving in and out of a giant watering can the size of a small shed. Active residents will find new friends on the sand volleyball, basketball or pickleball courts, and concrete-paved paths can connect visitors to the extensive Clear Creek Trail if you’re craving a longer walk.
