Luxury Bay Area living 35 miles from San Francisco
San Mateo County is synonymous with the San Francisco Peninsula. Located between San Francisco and San Jose, this stretch of land separates the bay from the ocean and is home to some of the wealthiest areas in the nation. One of these is West of the Alameda, an affluent neighborhood where CEOs and recognizable athletes are among the 1,000 residents. West of the Alameda offers luxurious, relaxing lifestyles with easily accessible green spaces near the 280 Freeway. Just 3 miles from downtown Atherton, the neighborhood feels secluded and has a CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10, far less than the national average of 4. “It’s got winding roads and rolling hills. There are lots of trees and long driveways leading down to estates. It feels a little more removed, and there’s not a lot of through traffic,” says Jennifer Bitter, a Realtor with Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty with 15 years of experience.
