Walkable south Buckhead neighborhood with Piedmont Hospital
The Ardmore neighborhood of south Buckhead, better known as Ardmore Park, maintains a quiet residential atmosphere amid the hustle of Atlanta’s city life. Connected to Atlanta’s BeltLine trail system and home to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, Ardmore Park is an established neighborhood walkable to restaurants and its namesake park. “It’s one of our older neighborhoods and has a lot of our medical community near Piedmont Hospital,” says Kenna Daws, Atlanta native and Realtor at Keller Williams Realty Atlanta North.

Mix of single-family homes, condos and apartments
Homes in Ardmore rest on compact, well-maintained lots and feature a variety of architectural styles, including brick Colonial Revivals, two-story craftsman houses and ranch homes with dormer windows. “Homes always sell well in that area because of the proximity to downtown Atlanta and just the charm and character,” Daws says. “You don’t see a decline in prices.” Single-family homes in Ardmore cost between $800,000 and $1 million, though homes come up for sale infrequently. Condos start around $300,000 and run upwards of $700,000. The Brookwood, a 19-story condo building on Peachtree Street, is among Ardmore’s many multi-family dwellings. Residents can buy or rent units in the building, with a three-bedroom unit costing around $700,000. “It’s got great diversity of architecture,” says Collette McDonald, a realtor with EXP Realty, who has been selling homes in the area for 23 years. “You have homes built in the 1940s up to new construction.”

Residents drive on I-75 and walk on the BeltLine
Many Ardmore residents work at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, a 643-bed facility, within a short walk of anywhere in the neighborhood. Locals can also quickly commute to Midtown Atlanta and downtown Atlanta via Peachtree Road NE or Interstate 75. “The great thing about this area is that you never have to get on an interstate to get anywhere,” McDonald says. “You can get to downtown Atlanta in 10 minutes on back roads.” Plus, thanks to the Atlanta BeltLine connecting through Ardmore, residents can forgo their cars altogether when traveling to neighboring residential areas, parks and restaurants.
The Atlanta Beltline’s Northside Trail, a paved and scenic path for strolling, jogging or cycling, runs through the nearly 2-acre park.
