During the day, businesspeople bustle in and out of high-rise buildings, and at night, young people hop from bar to bar. Luxury retailers like Dior and Hermes sit near high-end eateries like Gypsy Kitchen, a Spanish spot where lamp chops and octopus are favorites. Bars like Buckhead Saloon and Moondogs light the sidewalks when the sun goes down. The Buckhead Theatre’s art-deco-style building sits across from Charlie Loudermill Park, a pocket urban green space amid rows of commercial and office buildings. The theatre hosts live entertainment throughout the year. Numerous art galleries where locals can buy or admire art are also peppered throughout this area. From French Colonial-Revivals to modern architecture
“It’s an eclectic mix of architecture,” says Nikita Todd, a Realtor with Boulevard Homes, who has been selling in Atlanta for over a decade. “You’ll see Spanish-style homes, French colonial homes, historic Tudors, midcentury moderns, modern architecture.” Prices in Northwest Buckhead - which comprises the neighborhoods of Argonne Forrest, Arden-Habersham, and Wyngate - vary as wildly as the styles. Buyers could find a renovated 1950s 2,500 square-foot ranch-style home for $1 million or a recently built mansion with formal gardens and a pool for $8 million. But what homes in the area do have in common is large lots. Think a half-acre or more.
