Luxury living in southern Auburn

Though Moore's Mill Club is one of the newer country club communities in the Auburn area, it has quickly become one of the most coveted . "It's the premier country and golf course in this area," says Gloria Gittings, a Realtor with Porter Properties who has over a decade of experience selling homes in Auburn. Sitting on the outskirts of Auburn, the community was established in 2000, centered on its private club. However, the grand estates surrounding the country club are also a big selling point, offering excellent curb appeal on oversized lots.

Moore's Mill Club offers an array of upscale amenities

"Moore's Mill is very sought after as far as membership goes," Gittings says, explaining how the club's laundry list of amenities attracts people all over Auburn.. Several membership tiers are available: A full golf membership covers greens fees and comes with the ability to choose a tee time, while the social and fitness tiers take advantage of the club pools, tennis and pickleball courts, as well as the clubhouse. The 18-hole, par-72 course is the centerpiece of the club, and each golf membership comes with access to practice facilities . Tournaments are regularly held at the club, including a ladies' golf tournament and the local Frost Futures tennis tournament. However, prospective residents don't have to be a member to own a house in the neighborhood.

Custom estates with fairway views

Homes around the Moore's Mill Club are not cookie-cutter — far from it. Most estates showcase custom architecture, each different from the next, and their stunning curb appeal is a big seller for prospective residents. "Most of the houses over there are some of the largest in town," Gittings says. Some houses in the community sprawl over acre lots, offering uninterrupted views of the golf course. Prices vary depending on lot size and any additions or customizations, typically ranging from $900,000 to $1.6 million for homes on multi-acre lots.

Less than 3 miles from Moore's Mill Club, Lake Willmore has several trailheads for peaceful walks through nature. Over the years, the lake has turned into a creek, but its running waters still make for a pleasant backdrop. Hikers and bikers frequent the trails, and it's a popular spot to explore the woods and check out the lizards and turtles that live along the creek.
