Highland Park close to retail and hospitals
Augusta’s Highland Park neighborhood puts residents right next to essentials like shopping and medical care, as well as other amenities that just serve to make life more fun. Residents here can spend their free time putting around at the public 18-hole Augusta Municipal Golf Course or taking flight lessons at Daniel Field Airport.
Housing costs in Highland Park are well below Augusta’s average. And because the neighborhood is 3 miles from Augusta University and 5 miles from Augusta National Golf Club, the site of the annual Masters Tournament, there are income opportunities for those looking to rent out their properties for short or long-term stays. “The area has actually seen an increase in value over the last few years,” says Ross Trulock, a Realtor with Blanchard & Calhoun, who’s an Augusta native. “It is a good location in town. I've seen people use their properties as Airbnbs and the area is the home to many Augusta University students.”

Highland Park’s curb appeal
Early 1900s Bungalow-style homes and mid-century ranch houses line Highland Park’s wide neighborhood streets, some with walkable sidewalks. They typically sit back from the roads on grassy lots with mature trees in the front yard, and most have fenced-in backyards to provide some privacy or a haven for kids and pets to play.
The average home price hovers around $180,000, compared to $240,000 in Augusta as a whole. A two-bedroom, one-bath could be found for $130,000, while a three-bedroom, two-bath might fetch $215,000. “It was not too long ago that homes were going in the $60,000s and $70,000s in this neighborhood so you can see the value increase,” Trulock says.
