Community central to Aurora’s downtown and entertainment

Centre Pointe sits in the center of calm, with an active business park right next door. Subdivision sidewalks and bike paths wind to neighborhood parks and playgrounds. With minimal retail options, trips to Aurora’s downtown district are necessary. “Aurora City Center does ongoing events on the lawn, and the neighborhood’s proximity to the Aurora Town Center mall keeps it hustle and bustle,” says Realtor Jason Morris of eXp Realty, an Aurora local. Located 2 miles away from a busy business district makes for short commutes to government buildings or the nearby light rail stop for trips into Denver.

Tollgate subdivision and homes east of the creek

West Toll Gate Creek flows south along Centre Pointe’s western edge, dividing the apartments on the west side from the cul-de-sacs with single-family homes on the east side. Mature trees shade the fronts of 1980s Colonial Revival and bi-level homes in the Tollgate subdivision. Fenced-in backyards have decks for summertime barbeques. Single-family homes start at roughly $435,000 for three bedrooms and peak at $600,000 for five bedrooms. Townhouses that dot the northeastern area list between $308,000 and $429,000 and have two to three bedrooms.

Studies from Tollgate Elementary to Gateway High

The Aurora Joint District No. 28 of the Counties of Adams and A serves the Centre Pointe community. Tollgate Elementary School of Expeditionary Learning—a kindergarten through fifth-grade school—and Mrachek Middle School both earn a grade of C from Niche. Students may then attend Gateway High School, which Niche gives a C-minus grade. Gateway High allows students to participate in performing arts, of which the school has earned high recognition from the state to the national competition level.

The RTD R Line light rail, bound for Denver, stops at Metro Center Station in Aurora City Center, 2 miles away. Toll Gate Creek Trail travels and themed playgrounds

West Toll Gate Creek snakes along the western edge of the neighborhood. Part of the Toll Gate Creek Trail’s paved path, which runs parallel to the water, branches off to the east, leading to a pedestrian bridge. Crossing the bridge, walkers and bikers reach Tollgate Park’s treehouse-themed playground. Following the path’s intended course leads to the High Line Canal Trail – a more than 70-mile path – good for jogs and bike rides. Rocky Ridge Park speaks to adventurous spirits with a rock wall and a climbable dinosaur skeleton on the playground. The park’s surrounding open field and pavilion set the scene for picnics. Rocky Ridge Park is also one of the many rotating venues for the Park Lights and Movie Nights series in the summer. Down the street, pins crash at Bowlero Aurora.

Weekly errands and City Center shopping trips

Weekly shopping trips include trips to Safeway or drives down East Alameda Parkway to the City Center Marketplace Shopping Center. Ph? 777 warms the body with traditional Vietnamese noodle soup. Milly’s Community Café may be challenging to find, tucked within the Elevation Christian Church, but proves it should not be overlooked, with a brick-covered fireplace and the aroma of baked goods wafting through the air. A 2-mile drive west into Aurora City Center includes clothes racks in the Town Center of Aurora, with stores like Macy’s and JCPenney’s.

Attending events on Aurora Municipal Center’s lawn

The Aurora Municipal Center lawn packs its square filled with people during annual celebrations. “I’ve been to a couple of events when my kids were younger,” Morris says. He adds that most events are centered around major holidays, such as Independence Day, where fireworks light the sky. The Fourth of July Spectacular remains a crowd favorite, with live music. Global Fest attracts thousands of people each year, celebrating community members’ heritage and cultural traditions with a parade of nations, local food trucks and art displays. In fact, in 2023 alone, over 60 countries were represented.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. The townhomes were built back in 2004 so they are fairly new and good quality.

Every since marijuana was legalized, the general quality of people and community has gone down significantly. It attracts the scum of society.
