Walk across the street to Cherry Creek State Park
Residents in Park Villas can easily walk into Cherry Creek State Park, which encompasses 4,000 acres and 40 miles of trails. “There are not a lot of large bodies of water around Denver. So, on Cherry Creek reservoir, you can paddleboard, boat, canoe or take a boat out," says Christine Belin, an area local and Broker Associate at Evernest, LLC. "It’s one of the few areas where you can have boating and water activities, and there are a lot of outdoor activities that you don’t get throughout the city.” With beaches and marinas, this is one of the most popular outdoor retreats for Aurora residents. For a relaxing way to get outside, residents can take a walk or go for a brisk jog on the loop trail at Sagebrush Park, and kids can test their climbing skills on the playground. Canines can’t get enough of the Cherry Creek Dog Off Leash Area, a widespread dog park with creeks, trails and room to run.
