A quiet, close-knit community in southwest Baltimore
Hidden among other suburbs of its kind in southwest Baltimore, Tremont is a neighborhood that visitors will miss if they blink. This tiny grouping of residential streets is home to single-family homes and apartments tucked along a tree line. Bordered by the community of Ten Hills, Tremont is just five miles from the cultural hub of Downtown and four miles from sprawling Leakin Park, the largest woodland park of any East Coast city. Despite its proximity to Downtown, Tremont remains somewhat inconspicuous, with several retailers and restaurants nearby. “Tremont is close-knit and quiet, compared to some of the surrounding neighborhoods,” says Realtor Nzinga Anderson of Realty One Group Excellence with more than five years’ experience.
Most homes in Tremont are standard Baltimore rowhome styles.

Older rowhouses along parallel streets
Parallel streets of tightly packed single-family homes define this neighborhood. Attached red brick row houses and tidy yards represent the neighborhood of Tremont in southwest Baltimore. Tremont’s two-story row houses typically include narrow front and back yards and cozy front porches whose decorative awnings provide shade and personality. Well-tended and carefully mowed lawns reflect the pride residents take in their homes. “They’re older homes, so they’re a bit bigger and sturdier than new developments,” says Anderson. Parking is available in rear lots and on the surrounding streets. Pricing ranges between $100,000 and $215,000. For those looking for alternative housing options, this neighborhood also offers one and two-bedroom apartments on its north end.
