Coveted Bend area close to outdoor excitement
Set deep in the woods of the Deschutes National Forest, the southwest Bend area of Seventh Mountain is a sought-after area featuring a resort and golf club as well as proximity to outdoor adventures. “It’s so much more accessible to everything,” says Lynnea Miller, principal broker at Bend Premier Real Estate. “You’re close to the city, but still out in the country, so there’s no city taxes.” She says families and retirees move here for the gated subdivisions with views of the distant Cascade Mountains and the clubhouse and fitness center amenities at Seventh Mountain Resort. HOA fees are high here, but Miller says people forget that includes all utilities like cable, internet and sewer. Along with hitting the nine at the well-kept Widgi Creek Golf Club, locals hike along the clear blue waters of the Deschutes River in the east and travel for skiing at Mt. Bachelor farther west.
Seventh Mountain is named after the seven mountain peaks in Deschutes County.
Mount Bachelor is nearby for skiing in the winter and biking in the spring and summer.

These properties feature up to three bedrooms and balconies facing the dense Deschutes National Forest. Prices range between $225,000 and $375,000, and folks can expect to pay up to $1,900 in monthly HOA fees.
Further north, gated communities like Points West Subdivision feature early 2000s townhomes and modern Craftsman houses with vinyl and wood exteriors. These one to two-story properties sit side-by-side in a loop along sidewalk-less streets and include covered back patios and wooden decks overlooking the Deschutes River. Residents also have access to the Widgi Creek Golf Club, which offers public and membership-only tee times. Homes roughly range between $700,000 and $1.3 million, and monthly HOA fees can cost as much as $500.
