Cruisin' down Woodward

The Berkley Historical Museum is chock-full of information about this cherished town. Have an evening out and go bowling at Hartfield Lanes or ride some carnival rides at the annual Berkley Days Hometown Fair. Admire vintage cars at Berkley’s favorite event, the Woodward Dream Cruise Parade that attracts tons of visitors each year, including celebrities. Rait says, "There's a lot of muscle cars, classic cars and Model T cars. Woodward Avenue is four lanes wide and you just see cars cruise up and there from Detroit all the way to Pontiac, it's about a 15-mile stretch. Bob Seger is a local who visits and Jay Leno always comes by every year because he's a big car fanatic." This event is often paired with the Berkley Cruise Fest, a classic car parade. Other hometown events include the Annual Art Bash and The Berkley Days 5k and 10k runs.

Moving Woodward

Not only is Woodward Avenue the site of the Woodward Dream Cruise Parade, it also serves as the main thruway that cuts across the Berkley area. Berkley is also located 14 miles northwest of Detroit.
