A growing residential community

Homebuyers are drawn to Keeneyville's quiet streets lined with birches, oaks and willows. This small Bloomingdale community is about an hour from Downtown Chicago. “It’s a quaint bedroom community situated in a great location, where you can easily access larger towns like Schaumburg and O’Hare,” says Real Estate Broker Cindy Banks, who sells houses in the neighborhood with RE/MAX Cornerstone. “The area is ideal for someone who wants a quiet, but centrally located neighborhood.” With expressway expansion plans in place, Keeneyville’s residential community is growing. The neighborhood still contains multiple undeveloped lots.

Expressway expansion expected to cut down commute time

Keeneyville’s proximity to the Chicago expressway system is one of the primary reasons commuters move to the area. The neighborhood is about 33 miles northwest of Downtown Chicago via Interstate 290. Plans to expand Illinois Route 390, formerly known as the Elgin O’Hare Expressway, are expected to speed up residents’ commutes by 2025. “The expansion could cut 10-to-15 minutes off,” says Realtor Mathew Mika, who sells houses in the area with Compass. For commuters who prefer public transit, the Metra station in Roselle—just a 4-mile drive northeast—takes passengers to Downtown Chicago’s Union Station.
