Grazing horses and mountain views outside of San Bernadino
Ten miles outside San Bernadino along Interstate 10, remnants of 1960s rural life are still alive in Bloomington, California. Mid-century ranch-styles sit on multiple acres, and it’s not uncommon for residents to own a few horses. Recent years have seen the construction of warehouses across Bloomington and in nearby Fontana, and some locals banded together to protest the planned demolition of homes and schools. In the words of Carlos Sandoval, a Realtor at Sierra Realty with over 20 years of experience, “I’ve lived here now since ‘91. From when I first moved out here up to the present, it’s grown dramatically. There are lots of new homes. The warehouses are going up left and right. There’s just a lot of people coming in.” Bloomington is an unincorporated community on the precipice of major development.

Meanwhile, single-family ranch-styles and rustic cottages, most of which were built in the 1950s and ‘60s, start around $450,000. Multi-acre equestrian properties can sell for several million.
