Stonebridge in west Boca Raton offers custom homes in a country club setting
Stonebridge is a boutique golf course community nestled among the private developments on the western edge of Boca Raton that features designer homes in a pristine setting. Residents enjoy resort-style amenities amid 400 acres of clear lakes and towering trees. A 40,000-square-foot clubhouse is the center of the social scene in this close-knit, private community of fewer than 400 homes. “People like it because it’s a country club atmosphere and it has top-notch security,” says Israel Monteiro of EXP Realty LLC, who lives in Boca Raton and sells property throughout the city. “There’s tennis, golf, pickleball, restaurants – all these amenities. It’s like a resort.”
Stonebridge homes have large lakefront yards and lush foliage.

Decorative facades stand out among reasonably priced custom homes
Unlike many of the planned communities in Florida, Stonebridge sets itself apart with homes designed and built by several developers. At the same time, decorative facades and barrel-tile roofs are common. Thus, the community blends architectural diversity with standard aesthetics. Homes are mostly one story and feature meticulously landscaped front lawns. Trees shade quiet, walkable streets. There are several cul-de-sacs, offering an extra level of privacy. Most homes have pools in the back yard. Prices range from the mid-$500,000s for two-bedroom homes to nearly $2 million for the largest four-bedroom options. “Stonebridge is a place where you can get a good build in a decent price range,” Monteiro says. “For the average midsize country club home, Stonebridge is very good.” Like most of Boca Raton’s country club communities, there is a mandatory one-time membership fee. For Stonebridge, the fee is in the $100,000 range. Flooding is not a concern, but the roof designs help mitigate potential wind damage, which is a risk during hurricane season.

Redesigned 18-hole golf course, tennis courts are recreational highlights
The 18-hole, par-72 golf course the community is built around was redesigned in 2015. The picturesque, challenging layout plays to nearly 5,000 yards for women and 7,000 yards for men. Practice facilities include a driving range and greens for chipping and putting. Residents enjoy additional recreational amenities such as a community pool, fitness center and spa. Tennis leagues and tournaments are held year-round, and an on-site tennis pro provides clinics and lessons. Clubhouse card games are a popular social activity. At nearby West Delray Regional Park, mountain biking trails, a disc golf course and a runway for remote-controlled aircraft are featured amenities. Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is a popular attraction that hosts rotating exhibitions and cultural events in a relaxing lakeside environment. The beaches and waterways of the Atlantic Coast are a little more than 10 miles away.

The upscale open-air mall offers an array of boutique shops and high-end restaurants and features an amphitheater and entertainment center with 10 movie screens and 16 bowling lanes. “It increases the lifestyle of someone who lives in Stonebridge,” Monteiro says. The mall also has a Publix. A collection of big-box retailers, grocers and restaurants is concentrated about 3 miles away around the intersection of U.S. Highway 441 and Glades Road in Boca Raton. Fresh Market, Whole Foods and Home Depot are among the shopping options.
