Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School's gymnastics team dominates state championships

Recently, three elementary schools in Brecksville and neighboring Broadview Heights were merged into one, known as Brecksville-Broadview Heights Elementary School. Niche's rating of this new school is pending. However, both Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School and Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School have earned impressive A ratings from Niche. In 2024, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School girls' gymnastics team secured their 21st consecutive state title. The boys' basketball team clinched their fourth Greater Cleveland Suburban League conference championship.

Take a hike in Brecksville Reservation

Brecksville Reservation, the largest park in Northeast Ohio, has a variety of outdoor activities, including archery, hiking, and biking. Residents enjoy signature drinks and breakfast items at Joe Maxx Coffee Shop. Since 1974, Honey Hut Ice Cream has served homemade flavors. Locals can grab groceries at stores like Meijer, Aldi, and Giant Eagle Supermarkets.

Take Interstate 77 and 80 to Cleveland and Akron

Situated between Cleveland and Akron, residents have quick access to major highways, including Interstate 77 and Interstate 80's Ohio Turnpike, facilitating smooth commutes to neighboring cities. "You can be at one of four major highways within five to ten minutes. Whatever direction you're going for work, Brecksville is a nice little hub for that," Davidson says. For those traveling further afield, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is approximately 18 miles away, offering domestic and international flights. Public transportation is available within the city through the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit 77 bus route to Cleveland and the Metro Regional Transit Authority 101 bus route to Akron.

Celebrate community at Brecksville Home Days

In Brecksville, community engagement thrives through events and celebrations. Each year, residents come together to honor the memory of military heroes during the Brecksville Memorial Day Parade. Each June, people get together for Brecksville Home Days Weekend, which features a 5K run and a series of concerts. Brecksville Theater puts on plays with local performers and offers classes. It also has a theater camp for children during the summer. The Brecksville Community Center has events like a father and daughter dance, mother and son dance, art classes and Easter egg hunts. In Brecksville, people practice religions like Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Christians have different types of churches, such as Brecksville United Methodist Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Brecksville Church of God of Prophecy.
