Subdivision outside Silverdale’s shopping district
The Summit’s subdivision sits just north of Silverdale, Kitsap County’s central business district. As the community's streets wind west, the hum of passing cars fades into the woods around Island Lake, a county-wide attraction. Mature trees tower over single-family homes and townhouses, giving the area a secluded feeling despite its proximity to major employers and retailers.
The Summit is heavily wooded and most homes have large lot sizes.

Silverdale shopping centers and restaurant chains
Although the neighborhood does not have a designated area for retail and restaurants, its proximity to Silverdale presents options. “Silverdale is nicknamed ‘Consumerdale’ because everything you’d want is there, like the Costco, REI, Sprouts Farmers Market and regular grocery stores like Trader Joe’s,” says Ida Bear, a broker with Windermere Real Estate West Sound Inc., who started in real estate in 1985. “There are also two regional malls, Kitsap Mall, an old-fashioned 1980s mall, and The Trails at Silverdale.” In addition to fast food and national dining chains, such as Red Robin, there are local restaurants, such as Unko’s Kitchen, which specializes in Hawaiian cuisine. Maynard’s Restaurant serves craft cocktails and casual American food with a view of Dyes Inlet.

Canoeing, kayaking and hiking Clear Creek Trail
Island Lake County Park spans over 23 acres and has over a mile of paved and forested trails. The park’s beach has benches overlooking the water, where canoes and kayaks glide by and fishing lines are cast from piers. “The big thing is to swim to the island in the middle of the lake; that island is how the lake got its name,” says Pat Patton, a Windermere Real Estate broker with eight years of experience. Adjacent to the park’s log cabin that is rented out for events, there are picnic tables and a playground. Silverdale Rotary Gateway Park sits adjacent to Clear Creek, where over 7 miles of trail—known as the Clear Creek Trail—weave through the wilderness.
