An urban residential neighborhood between Yankee Stadium and a former aqueduct
Located on the Harlem River directly north of Yankee Stadium, the Bronx neighborhood of Highbridge is predominantly residential. The area takes its name from The High Bridge, a 19th-century bridge built as part of the Croton Aqueduct. On the Manhattan side, the structure connects to Washington Heights and High Bridge Park, a vast green space with various facilities. “This community is parks country,” says Deborah Miller, an associate real estate salesperson with Brown Harris Stevens who has worked in the Bronx for over a decade. In addition to being home to the oldest bridge in New York City, High Bridge garnered attention after a steep set of stairs was featured in an iconic scene of the Joaquin Phoenix film “Joker.” Thanks to a community art project, the formerly patinaed locale now features a colorful floral mural.
The Yankee Stadium south of Highbridge has become a highly attractive destination.
High Bridge Park is rather unique in that it connects High Bridge and Northern Manhattan.

Residents also have easy access to the Manhattan scene. "Once you cross the bridge, you land in restaurants," says Monica Cappelan, a Realtor with Sotheby's International. The Fort George neighborhood in particular is known for Dominican cuisine, juice bars and a food hall with multiple vendors.

I've lived here all my life but I haven't spent much time around the neighborhood, mostly because there isn't much to do and there are no productive things around here but a couple parks and a basketball court. I would like to see something like a Boys & Girls club or something to get the community together.

It can be better, but it seem to be getting worse. They just opened a liguor store around the corner from my hose. It was once a laundry room, but it couldn't keep up with the water bills. We need positive businesses and people to care for the neighborhood a little more. There are houses and apartment in the neighborhood which is a plus. There are parks which I lot of people don't take advance of.
