Residential living with shops and restaurants
While comprised primarily of homes among tree-lined streets, Bronxville’s quiet neighborhood atmosphere is complemented by its proximity to local shops and restaurants in southeastern New York. “It’s a quaint town-slash-village with boutique shops,” says Lou Cioffi, a top-producing neighborhood Realtor in Bronxville. “There’s a lot of mom-and-pop-owned restaurants, too.” Those mom-and-pop shops are just a small piece of what it has to offer, as the Bronx River Parkway slices along the western boundary and links it with other neighborhoods in the area. Bronxville’s highly-rated school systems, varied home styles and nearness to Manhattan all play into its appeal, providing residents with high-quality daily living.
Local outlets galore in Bronxville
For local food, stop into Lange’s Delicatessen, which has prided itself on offering varied breakfast, lunch and dinner options for nearly three decades. “As far as delis go, Lange’s is a place you can’t compete with,” Cioffi says. “For restaurants, Pete’s Park Place Tavern is a great spot for a burger and a beer while watching a game.” Other local favorites include Slave to the Grind’s gourmet coffee bar offerings, the Bronxville Diner’s retro-styled 1950s atmosphere and Candy Rox with its large, colorful assortment of sweets. If the mood for absorbing a good book strikes, Womrath Bookshop is an independent bookstore less than five minutes from Scout Field Park that’s been in business for nearly nine decades. For groceries, head over to the ACME Markets location near the park, where produce and brand-name products can be found alongside pet supplies, beauty products and lifestyle items for an all-in-one shopping experience.

Varied home styles
Homes in Bronxville rarely sell for less than $700,000 and can range from that price point all the way up into properties costing well over $1 million. There’s plenty of housing styles mixed in throughout the neighborhood, with colonial styles common alongside ranch homes and Tudors as well as Georgian colonials on the higher end of cost. Many of those Georgian colonials were built in the early 20th century, a number of them either designed by or in resemblance of notable architects’ styles of the time. “There’s older homes with estates, and the integrity and character of each of the homes is very different,” Cioffi says. “They’re not cookie-cutter by any means, especially by the carpentry and workmanship, the masonry, stone and brick construction of these homes.” Many residences are located on sizable lots with tree-filled yards and even the occasional pool, some blocks with multiple styles side by side, with sidewalks lining some of the streets for a scenic walk or jog.
