This suburban slice of heaven is situated amongst Colorado’s wide-open fields, giving this Broomfield neighborhood its name. “Greenway Park is a wonderful, laid-back community with a small-town feel,” says Kim Camerlo, a real estate agent with Divine Real Estate Group and Broomfield resident. “It’s a neighborhood with proximity to nice amenities and tons of green spaces and parks.”

Though most homes were built between the 1970s and 1980s, various house styles line the streets in Greenway Park. You’ll find town houses with contemporary details, saltbox styles with unique layouts, minimalistic ranches, and Craftsman new builds within the neighborhood. Camerlo notes that the homes here are a little older than in surrounding areas, but it’s a great area for a starter house because of the range in style and price, typically between $320,000 and $644,500.

Students in Greenway Park may get their education within the Boulder Valley School District, which Niche ranks as the top school district in the Denver area. Emerald Elementary School and Ryan Elementary School serve kids in kindergarten through fifth grade, and both have an A- overall rating. Depending on zoning, students move to Broomfield Heights Middle School or Mandalay Middle School for sixth through eighth grade. Broomfield High School prides itself on being a true community high school with a diverse student body and offers a range of challenging Advanced Placement and collegiate-level courses.

The great outdoors call residents of Greenway Park to the various natural amenities in the neighborhood. The area is rich with recreation, from hiking trails to playgrounds and sports facilities. “There are common areas with fields, off-leash dog parks, and many family-friendly areas,” Camerlo says. Broomfield Commons Open Space and The Field Open Spaces provide ample acreage of lush meadows with hiking and cycling pathways. Baseball and soccer games are always afoot at the lighted fields and baseball diamonds in Broomfield Community Park, which also boasts four playgrounds and batting cages. In the summer, residents of all ages take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool at Bay Aquatic Park while noshing on concessions. Golfers delight in the pristine greens of the nine-hole Greenway Park Golf Course as they hone their swinging skills.

When it’s time to refuel, folks of Greenway Park don’t have to look far for a wide selection of restaurants. “There are chain restaurants to family-owned restaurants, but local staples include Italian favorites like Scalzotto and Papa Frank’s,” Camerlo says. Dig into classic pasta dishes and traditional desserts at these contemporary yet casual spots. Additional dining and retail options can be found within the neighborhood at the Broomfield Town Center, which has King Soopers and Walmart for groceries among its slew of restaurants and department stores. When the draw of a larger city calls, US-36 west to Boulder or east to Denver for a change in scenery. The neighborhood is conveniently situated between the two cities with less than a 25 minute-commute.

“Wherever you live in Greenway Park, you’ll benefit from a very nice community,” Camerlo says. You will get a feel for the laid-back, small-town feel of the community at the summertime farmers markets and movies hosted in the park. But you won’t want to miss out on the year’s biggest event—the entire area bands together every September to celebrate its neighbors and community during the Broomfield Days Festival. The weekend-long event features an extensive list of entertaining activities, including a 5k race, parades, and live performances.
