Fort Mohave is a busy neighborhood in dead-quiet Mohave County. This unincorporated community, located 11 miles from Bullhead City, is popular with those looking for not only the relative quiet of the area but also access to shopping, dining and infrastructure. “The Valley View Medical Center is right off Highway 95, so we get a lot of medical professionals,” says Sharon Scott of Country Ranch Realty, who has sold over 100 properties in the area. “At the same time, it’s popular with retirees that want to stay active and go out to eat and play golf.” Highway 95 intersects the neighborhood from north to south and is home to the hospital and various big box stores. The highway can sometimes be noisy, causing issues for nearby homeowners, and the area is hot. Summertime temperatures in Fort Mohave often exceed 100 degrees.

Manufactured home communities and ranch-style houses
Properties in Fort Mohave are either manufactured homes costing between $89,000 and $250,000 or ranch-style houses with Spanish-inspired architecture that go for $260,000 to $450,000. New, single-family builds near Las Lagos Golf Club cost between $600,000 and $800,000. Most manufactured homes are in gated communities with community pools and clubhouses, and single-family ranch-style houses are mostly from the early 2000s with rock gardens, palm trees and attached garages. These houses sit on quiet residential roads with no sidewalks, and about half of them feature private pools.

The fieldhouse has a capacity of 4,500 and hosts graduations and other events throughout the year.
Easy access to Los Lagos Golf Club
Fort Mohave is a great spot for golfers, as the neighborhood has three courses within five minutes of most homes. Los Lagos Golf Club is an 18-hole ground with private lessons and tournaments throughout the year, located right in the neighborhood. Just to the south is El Rio Golf Club, which has a Spanish mission-style clubhouse with a bar, dining room and a pro shop. Across the Nevada border, the Mojave Resort Golf Club earned five stars from Golf Digest. The 18-hole course has views of the Colorado River and the Mohave Mountains, and it’s next to the Avi Resort & Casino. “One of the perks is we’re so close to Nevada, so it’s just a quick drive over the border to the Avi, and a lot of residents go there for entertainment,” says Scott. Boating and fishing trips happen nearby on the Colorado River.

Walmart and dining on Highway 95
People choose Fort Mohave over other nearby areas because it’s close to shopping and dining, says Scott. Most of the neighborhood’s eateries sit along Highway 95, including Casa Serrano Mexican, which has bright murals on the walls and leather booths. Diners enter a Spanish-style building with pinatas and flowers hanging from the ceiling and eat burritos, street tacos and fajitas. Bonanza Café looks like a cabin in the woods on the outside and has the old-school diner feel inside, with ketchup and mustard in the old-school red and yellow containers on the tables. Omelets, breakfast burritos and burgers are on the menu at Bonanza. Dandy Donuts & Deli has doughnuts behind a glass counter and made-to-order sandwiches. Grocery shopping is convenient with a Walmart Supercenter and Safeway both in the neighborhood.
