You know you've entered the Five Corners neighborhood when you get the quiet suburban atmosphere and are blocks from the developing downtown Burien. Five Corners gives homebuyers a plethora of housing options while providing convenience to several amenities. “They have close proximity to the water and Normandy Park,” says Tay Krull, General Sales Manager at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwest. “That area is also close to the freeways and the airport.”

Single-family homes are as diverse as the community, combining a mixture of contemporary, craftsman, and ranch-style properties. Enjoy the quiet lifestyle in your midcentury four-bedroom home. Meet all your neighbors within the planned or gated subdivisions. Houses are given unique beach colors such as coral blues, light grays, and oranges. These homes often carry attached multi-car garages and larger driveways. An average home in Five Corners can come to around $675,000, but houses can pique over $1 million.

Outdoor recreation and park spaces are relatively easy to find around Five Corners. Head northwest of the neighborhood, and you’ll hit Lakeview Park. This 2.8-acre park offers some lawn and picnic spaces. Kiddos can enjoy the afternoon around the colorful playground. Then, owners with furry children can praise the 5-acre off-leash dog park. Similar amenities can also be discovered along the City Hall Park in Normandy Park. The Indian Trail is the perfect opportunity to take an adventurous hike while catching the breathtaking views of Puget Sound. Get the scent of saltwater and the calm feeling of the beach with Seahurst Park. Explore the several miles of trails, and kids can have some fun within the playground.

Grades kindergarten through fifth grade can begin at Gregory Heights Elementary School, which has a C+ Niche Grade. This school is constantly improving to develop its after-school activities and writing curriculum. Career courses in STEM and conservation can be explored at Sylvester Middle School. The C Niche-rated school also provides 10 after-school clubs and activities. Several AP courses are offered at Highline High School, which carries a C+ Niche Grade. Students can research over 15 careers through the technical courses offered.

“They can find most shopping and dining on 152,” Krull says. “This is the heart of Burien.” You’ll feel the Main Street atmosphere when walking up and down 152nd St. Any cuisine resides within that road, including the popular restaurant La Costa. This smaller spot is a staple for Mexican food in the Burien area. Satisfy your sweet tooth with the fresh pastries baked daily at Nouveau Bakery, which was recognized in the New York Times. Stop by the Burien Town Square Park every Thursday for locally grown produce at the Burien Farmers Market. If you’re in the Five Corners Shopping Center, stop by Khans Mongolian Grill for the authentic flavors of Mongolian Barbeque. Then, weekly groceries can be grabbed at the Trader Joe’s next door.

A family favorite annual summer event is the Strawberry Festival in the Burien Town Square Park. This fun-filled weekend includes a petting zoo, vendors, and live music. Then, a festival staple involves the Father’s Day Car Show. The Latin culture is celebrated through the Dia de los Muertos, which includes arts and crafts, dancing, food, and stories from the ancestors. If you need to head out of town, the Seattle International Airport sits only four miles away, offering flights to 120 domestic and international destinations. Being near several freeways, it’s a simple 12-mile drive to get to downtown Seattle. Five Corners residents can also receive quality health care from St. Anne Hospital, which sits right on the neighborhood’s edge. Live within the convenient creases of Five Corners.
