Suburban conveniences at the right price
Sitting just east of Burlington City along U.S. Highway 130, La Gorce Square is a suburban neighborhood that attracts buyers with its lower-priced single-family homes, quality schools, and proximity to Philadelphia and New York. “Home prices and school district are its allure,” says Craig Roloff, a Realtor with Re/Max of Cherry Hill. Roloff grew up in South Jersey, and he and his wife Jill have 60 years of combined real estate experience. “With the current market, buyers have difficulty finding affordable homes in good school districts. La Gorce Square has both, which makes it a very sellable community.”
Buyers often look well out of their preferred living area to find a property they can afford, says Realtor Maria Jobes-Hogan with Weichert Realtors. “I had a military couple who could only afford about $375,000, and they wanted to be in Burlington Township where their family is. La Gorce was just the right fit.” As a commuter herself before getting into real estate, Jobes-Hogan knows the convenience this neighborhood offers homeowners. “La Gorce Square has shopping, grocery stores, pizza places and major highways nearby. Route 130, Interstate 295 and the Turnpike get you into Philadelphia or New York. Five bridges over the Delaware span 30 miles and take you into Pennsylvania.” With sidewalks on every block, little car traffic and neatly kept homes, La Gorce Square is a suburban haven many families and commuters dream of finding.
A main highway to get around the La Gorce Square neighborhood is US-130.

Lower-cost homes, a find in Burlington Township
Most homes in La Gorce Square are three- and four-bedroom ranch-style homes with attached garages or carports that sell for between $160,000 and $400,000. Built in the 1950s, many have been completely remodeled with new flooring, fixtures, doors and windows, and heating and cooling systems. Some also offer partial basements, front decks and large backyards for entertaining. The neighborhood is also filled with split-level and colonial-style homes, priced from $390,000 to $440,000. They often feature two-car garages and finished basements. “La Gorce Square is a good neighborhood for first-time homebuyers and those with lower to middle incomes,” Jobes-Hogan says. “Over the last four years, buyers have practically given up because prices have climbed. Here, people can find a decent house in the 300,000s or a fixer-upper in the 200,000s.” CAP Index gives La Gorce Square a crime score of 2 out of 10. The national average is 4. The neighborhood also sits on high ground, unlike most of nearby Burlington City, which means purchasing flood insurance is not needed.
