Buyers enjoy a wide variety of suburban and waterfront homes

Lake Cable residents will find a variety of homes from contemporary lakefront and brick Colonial-influenced homes to New Traditional and extensively renovated midcentury modern homes. Single-family homes with Craftsman-style architecture showcase gabled roofs, dormer windows and brightly painted wood accents. Colonial Revivals with dark shutters and crisp white siding stand out within the neighborhood. Many residences feature paved driveways, two- and three-car garages and well-landscaped lawns. “The original lakefront cottage homes here were built in the 1930s and 1940s,” says John Williams, a Realtor with Re/Max Edge Realty and a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio. “If you’re lucky, you might find a few for sale around $350,000. But they will need some work.” John explains that buyers who really want a lake house can find it, but prices really do vary—all the way up to $5,000,000.

Local parks and Lake Cable itself offer endless recreation

Outdoor recreation can be found on Lake Cable and inside the larger neighborhood. The lake is private, for members only, but it does offer day passes to the lake’s beach on a limited basis. Homeowner members enjoy private docks, beaches and marinas. “On the lake, just behind the clubhouse is Goat Island with its iconic lighthouse and a sandbar. People tie up their boats there and go swimming,” explains John Williams, “and they offer live concerts on the sandbar in the summer, which is a lot of fun!” Right across from the lake is Fisher Park, which residents of Jackson Township – just west of Lake Cable – can visit at no charge. With five ball fields and four soccer fields, Fisher Park is a popular destination for community sports games and tournaments. Its playground and picnic pavilion can be rented out for events and celebrations. Residents also have access to nearby North Park, a 70-acre complex with more than two dozen athletic courts and sporting fields.
