A laid back Happy Valley suburb with parks galore
On the south side of Happy Valley, 16 miles from Portland’s city center is Rock Creek, a modern suburb named for the flowing tributary bordering it to the east. Nearby nature parks and the winding Clackamas River provide residents with a bevy of outdoor recreation options, while Happy Valley city events encourage the community’s close-knit vibe. Here, residents are just steps away from Oregon’s rolling hills and farmland, while commuters can reach downtown Portland in under 30 minutes.
Mountain and waterfall views
Nature lovers enjoy the sights and sounds of the neighborhood’s namesake from the bridge at Hidden Falls Nature Park, while a short drive north will bring them to Scouters Mountain Nature Park. Here, visitors enjoy packed lunches under the picnic pavilion, walk along the wooded 1-mile loop trail and take in the panoramic views of Mount Hood. Closer to home, parents take their young ones to one of Rock Creek’s many neighborhood parks, with playgrounds available at Village Green, Pioneer and Ashley Meadows parks.
