Due to limited inventory and the popularity of this neighborhood, demand is high, and homes are selling quickly. Historic homes near the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga have recently sold from $270,000 to $340,000. Parks in the Arts District include river views and stories of history
History fans will find the stories captured at Phillip’s Park intriguing. The park offers green space on Georgia Avenue and is a good spot for getting some fresh air during the day. Tennessee Riverpark is a large regional park of 150 acres along the Tennessee River with stunning vistas, green spaces, playgrounds and 13 miles of paved trails. It also offers several boat and kayak launch spots.

From festival to farmers markets there’s plenty to do in Downtown Chattanooga
Chattanooga hosts year-round events, including concerts and music festivals. The Arts District is within walking distance of most performances. Right near the Bluff View District at Ross’s Landing—also known as the city’s front porch—the Riverbend Festival has entertained Chattanoogans for 38 years during June.
Bluff View Art District welcomes residents to enjoy picnics overlooking the Tennessee River, duck into art galleries or check out the River Garden Sculpture Park, which is next to the Hunter Museum of American Art. From there, locals head to the blue steel structure of the Walnut Street Bridge and cross into northern Chattanooga or visit the nearby Tennessee Aquarium. In March, the Chattanooga Rivermarket rolls out at the aquarium plaza every weekend. It’s all about live music, good food and original art.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a dominant landmark in the heart of the Arts District and is known for its nationally-ranked Business program. Primary and secondary school students can attend Hamilton County schools, for which Niche gives a B grade. Tommie F. Brown International Academy, with a C-plus grade from Niche, is a public magnet school offering pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences (CSAS) has an overall Niche score of A and is ranked the second-best public middle school in the Chattanooga area. “Private schools are popular options as well,” adds Realtor Dixon.

The free Downtown Shuttle offers two routes to get around Chattanooga. The Downtown route travels from Shuttle Park North through downtown to Shuttle Park South on Market Street. The North Shore Shuttle goes from Hamilton Avenue south across the Tennessee River to Fourth Street. The Scenic City is equally located between Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham and Atlanta. Interstates 24, 75 and 59 make it easy to get to each city and their airports. Chattanooga Airport offers daily non-stop flights to Chicago, Las Vegas, Dallas, Washington, D.C. and Charlotte.
