Well-loved Brainerd Hills shows off mid-century homes and expansive parks
On nice days, residents of Brainerd Hills watch as planes smoothly descend onto the runway of the nearby Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport. Located at the east end of the greater Brainerd area and just nine miles east of downtown, one might expect a neighborhood teeming with energy. Instead, what buyers find today in Brainerd Hills are many of the same features it boasted when it was developed in the 1950s—quiet pocket parks, mid-century modern homes and large front yards that show off well-tended gardens.
Homes display a variety of architecture, from tidy, well-updated cottages and split-levels to recently built New Traditional homes and renovated ranch-style homes. While the neighborhood is quiet and low-key, it is bisected by Highways 64 and 320, and accompanying businesses including Top Golf, Sir Goony’s Family Fun Center and Capital Toyota.

While Benham Williams is the only park within the boundaries of Brainerd Hills, at least seven city parks are within a five-mile radius. Brown Acres Golf Course is a public golf course that recently opened a newly constructed driving range and clubhouse.
While 275-are Camp Jordan Park is about six miles south of Brainerd Hills, it is a popular location for residents to enjoy Disc Golf, kayaking, fishing and hiking. It also hosts Little League games and soccer games across more than 15 sports fields.

We have lived on Bass Rd in Brainerd Hills for 20 years. This is NOT a high crime area- false information. There are incidents of petty theft when cars have been left unlocked at night and rare isolated incidents of worse crimes, but this does NOT qualify as a high crime area.
Ours is a peaceful neighborhood- lots of folks walking dogs, parents pushing baby strollers, and joggers. This is a very stable older neighborhood, so no loud parties, etc.
