Small town charm in New York

Clay is a small town located 15 miles from Syracuse in the middle of New York State. The community blends suburban charm with a rural backdrop and is situated past the Seneca River. The area has a rich history dating back to the 1700s and showcases its agricultural roots through historic barns and untouched land to the north. Most businesses are concentrated along Highway 31 and Oswego Road, with established homes on tidy streets beyond the shopping districts. The nearby water to the west invites locals to enjoy the beautiful landscape through fishing and boating.

Out on the town

Highway 31 stretches across Clay, and the route contains retail plazas in the western corridor. Locals can pick up groceries at Wegmans and shop for home goods inside Target. There are also big box supercenters such as Walmart and Home Depot for day-to-day supplies. The commercial hub includes hotels as well as several chain retailers and restaurants. Euclid Restaurant and Bar is one of Clay's few locally run eateries. The establishment serves home-style fare, but hungry patrons can order a variety of items, from pasta and pies to scallops and sauerbraten. Residents can try their luck on the restaurant's slot machines next to the sports bar. For more dining options, locals can take to the many riverfront restaurants in nearby Baldwinsville or travel 15 miles to downtown Syracuse.
