Historic suburb near Lake Erie

Once the summer home of John D. Rockefeller, this historic Cleveland neighborhood is surrounded by areas to explore, places to eat and quick traveling. For starters, residents are only about 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland and all that it has to offer. Interstate 90 is also in the neighborhood, allowing you to quickly get to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and FirstEnergy Stadium, which is home to the Cleveland Browns. With so much history surrounding it and nature’s best with Lake Erie being a stone’s throw away, Forest Hills is a wonderful choice for those seeking good education and an exciting way of life.

Post-World War II home styles

Residents of Forest Hills are surrounded by colonial and contemporary ranch homes which are timeless styles from a post-World War II era. Many of these Four squares and colonials have front porches and balconies, ranging from 1,000 to 2,500 square feet in size and around $30,000 to $100,000 in price.

Shops and dining at Coventry

Neighboring Cleveland Heights is Coventry, a little strip filled with shops and restaurants, along with Little Italy which offers fine Italian dining with more than one spot to choose from. Forest Hills residents are only a few minutes away from these popular destinations including Forest Hill Park and tennis courts for some exercise outdoors.

Music venues and history museums

Forest Hills residents are in a prime location when it comes to local events, as they are not very far away in any one direction from museums, concert venues and even downtown Cleveland itself. A quick trip onto the highway can get you to the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern, one of the city’s popular venues for live music and entertainment. Both the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Cleveland Museum of Art are also close to the neighborhood, with the latter offering free admission to the public to view its exhibitions. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame showcases the history of rock music with instrumental artifacts and on-stage attire worn by famous recording artists and musicians.

Olympic-sized pool at Forest Hill Park

Forest Hills residents can enjoy strolls through Forest Hill Park, which was once a part of John D. Rockefeller's estate. Inside, an Olympic-size pool awaits residents looking to swim a few laps during the summer, while a splash pad for kids is off to the side for them to have fun as well. With six baseball fields, tennis courts and hiking trails, this park for all seasons offers plenty for residents to enjoy on any day of the year.

Career-focused charter schools and extracurriculars

Forest Hills residents have a variety of options when it comes to education for their children. Stephanie Tubbs Jones School, named after the first Black woman to be elected to Congress from Ohio, is a pre-K through eighth-grade school. It utilizes theater techniques to develop empathy amongst its elementary students and has lessons that cater to trauma care and literacy learning. Citizens Leadership Academy East is a part of Breakthrough Public Schools, one of Ohio’s highest-performing charter school networks that offer free education. Students can enjoy extracurricular activities that are focused on math and reading, helping them learn while having fun. Finally, for high school, Forest Hills parents have Glenville High School which is a career-focused school meant to set students up for success in college and beyond.

Interstate 90 and State Route 6

For the easiest access to downtown Cleveland and the west side of the area, Interstate 90 is very close to Forest Hills. Residents have quick access to the highway to get to where they need to go, especially if it is a commute to downtown itself. However, side street and main road options are available, with both Euclid Avenue and State Route 6 being the best alternatives when driving to work or school.
