Unique shops around 4th Street

The neighborhood is best known for having a variety of shops and restaurants. The Breakfast Nook is a favorite for early morning pancakes, and Daft Badger Brewing is a go-to for a weekend brewery visit. Ten/6 is a cajun-inspired restaurant that is also an immersive Alice in Wonderland-themed event space. These restaurants are about a mile and a half from most homes in the neighborhood. There are plenty of places to shop near the neighborhood, too, like The Long Ear CDs and Vinyl record store, Paris Vintage Market and Bookishly Happy Used Book Store. For groceries, most head to Safeway located in Ironwood Square. This shopping center also has a Starbucks and local eateries like Caruso’s Sandwiches and Artisan Pizza.

Living near Lake Coeur d’Alene

Lake Coeur d’Alene is the city’s biggest attraction “People love having access to the lake,” say the Staffords. The Lake is 112 miles long and is about a mile and a half from Appleway-North 4th Street. It’s open for fishing, boating, swimming and various water sports. The Spokane River is about a mile southwest of the neighborhood, providing more access to water recreation. The North Idaho Centennial Trail runs between the River and the neighborhood for long hikes around Coeur d'Alene. Winton Park, located inside the neighborhood, is a place to relax on a warm day. Riverstone Park, has a playground, an amphitheater and a small lake.
