Tree-lined streets and proximity to downtown
A quiet, shady neighborhood just west of Downtown Coeur d’Alene, Forest Heights offers proximity to the popular shopping and dining of the city without all the accompanying noise. “It’s really close to Downtown Coeur d’Alene and walking distance to City Beach. It’s a little bit of mixed-use and has a nice view of the North Idaho College campus,” says Kira Kelly, a Realtor with Century 21 Beutler and Associates, who has sold multiple homes in the neighborhood. “They’re right on the border of the commercial area, and the residential area is set back from that for the most part.”

A quick walk to downtown's shopping and dining
There are some shops and restaurants in Forest Heights, like Paul Bunyan, a local burger restaurant and Café Carambola, which serves Latin American food like tacos and tortas. But with Downtown Coeur d’Alene just a few blocks from the neighborhood, most people go there for shopping and dining. “It’s pretty much within walking distance of downtown. The popular spot would be Crafted Tap House. There’s Beverly’s and Dockside at the Coeur d’Alene Resort,” says Kelly. Crafted Tap House + Kitchen is a local eatery on Sherman Avenue that serves scratch-made bar food and has 62 beers on taps. The restaurant is also popular for its turtle races, which take place every Friday night. Beverly’s is an upscale American restaurant in the Coeur d’Alene Resort known for its steak and seafood dishes. Dockside, also in the resort, is a little more casual than Beverly’s and is well-known around town for its "gooeys," which are ice cream sundaes with several toppings. Shops around downtown sell everything from clothing and gifts to antiques and art. Groceries are available at Safeway or the locally-owned Pilgrim’s Market on Fourth Street.
