Being within two miles of Texas A&M, the Wolf Pen Creek District has an array of student housing, ranging from apartment buildings to townhomes and houses for rent. “It’s student-esque housing,” says Jordan Kleckley, a broker associate with Brick and Parcel Real Estate Group who has lived in the area for over two decades. Condo units and townhomes range between $175,000 and $335,000. “I’d say it’s predominately rentals and investor-owned, but there is a mixture of owner-occupied as well,” Kleckley says. Many single-family homes in the area were built in the 1990s and early 2000s, sitting on near quarter-acre lots. There are also newly built homes in communities like The Estates at College Station, which come with attached garages and a community pool. Homes have recently sold between $160,000 and $290,000, though some have sold for close to $500,000.

Nature trails and city events at Wolf Pen Creek Park
Wolf Pen Creek Park is one of the largest municipal parks in College Station, spanning 63 acres. The park has a paved trail system with scenic nature and creek views. But it’s mostly known for its open-air amphitheater that hosts city events like the Trunk or Tree-t around Halloween time, occasional marathons and music performances. “It’s a really pretty park,” Kleckley says. “They have concert series and movies in the park, it’s really nice. I think that’s one of the biggest draws over there.” The community is also less than a mile from Stephen C. Beachy Central Park, which has nature trails and a pond that’s stocked with catfish most of the year.

AggieSpirit bus and commuting on State Highway 6
The Wolf Pen Creek area is minutes from Texas Avenue, a major thoroughfare for College Station and neighboring Bryan. State Highway 6 is also close by for folks heading out of town. The AggieSpirit bus, which shuttles students on and off campus, has several stops along Holleman Drive and Southwest Parkway. Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, a 142-bed hospital, is 4 miles away.

A bit closer to the neighborhood, the Aggieland Farmers Market runs year-round in the Post Oak Mall parking lot. Residents can buy fresh produce, vegetables and baked goods, among other items, from local vendors.
