Dotted with trees, and with homes priced well below the city average, the area gives off family-friendly vibes. “Forest Park West gives off that small, suburban neighborhood feel but is only 10 to 15 minutes from downtown,” says Remington Lyman, Realtor with Reafco. “It’s a quaint and quiet area with parks and restaurants that are walkable from homes with a lot of charm.”

Greenery peppers the area, with mature trees and shrubbery in yards and between homes. Driveways and attached garages are standard, with lot sizes rarely going any larger than an eighth of an acre. “The money you spend for a house here goes a long way,” Lyman says. “You can get three-bedroom houses in the $200,000s.” Prices range from the low $200,000s to the high $300,000s, with square footage and condition being the deciding factors.
