Turning quarries into condos
Located on the site of an old quarry, Marble Cliff Crossing is now a collection of condo communities and single-family homes. “They’ve made lakes out of the old quarries near Lakeshore Drive and Cliff Court,” says Realtor Thomas Hamrick with Keller Williams Consultants Realty, a lifelong Columbus resident. With the addition of the lakes, residents can enjoy lakeside views and watch for waterfowl. The neighborhood isn’t far from downtown Columbus, but it's even closer to Upper Arlington and Grandview. “Fifth Avenue is the main drag in Grandview,” Hamrick says. “So you can take that road straight into the area that has a lot of cool resale and vintage shops.”

Condos and split-levels with lake views
Homebuyers can find single-family homes by Cortona Road on the eastern side of the neighborhood. These homes are typically siding and brick split-levels built in the mid-'70s. They sit on narrow streets with sidewalks and mature trees providing an expansive canopy in the summer. Closer to Upper Arlington, condo communities offer housing in a range of styles, from a rustic stone feel in The Keep to stucco in the gated communities of Hidden Lake. Many homes here have balconies and lake views, and some homeowners associations have private community pools and tennis courts. Single-family homes in Marble Cliff Crossing typically list between $200,000 and $250,000, while condos sell for closer to $300,000 and $350,000. Homeowners association fees add to these costs, especially in the condo communities. In the Hidden Lake subdivision, the monthly fees can be as high as $700.

Several grocery stores are located within a 3-mile radius of Marble Cliff Crossing. Kingsdale Shopping Center has an Aldi and Market District Supermarket. Locals can also find a Whole Foods Market and Kroger within the same distance.

Play golf like one of the greats
Marble Cliff Crossing is right next to Scioto Country Club, which has been a fixture in the area for over 105 years. John Nicklaus learned to play here. Members can enjoy golf, tennis and swimming. The fitness facility offers spa treatments and a sauna alongside the indoor pool. Like the neighborhood, Quarry Trails Metro Park is another space that was transformed from an old quarry. Today, visitors can hike or mountain bike the various trails and enjoy the lakes and waterfalls. Fishing is allowed in the quarry lakes, and individuals can register for rock climbing excursions.
Marble Cliff Crossing is so close to Upper Arlington
Because Marble Cliff Crossing is so close to Upper Arlington, residents here can attend the neighborhood’s many community events. The Upper Arlington Arts Festival takes place every Labor Day in Northam Park, showcasing over 200 artists. For the Upper Arlington Fourth of July Parade, residents secure their spots days in advance by placing lawn chairs along the route. The city hosts a competition for the best float in the parade for some friendly competition.
