Polaris North is best known for its access to major shopping centers, but it's the calm suburban streets lined with single-family homes and condos that encourage homebuyers to put down roots. Residents spend the evenings walking their pets down the sidewalks before driving less than a mile to a diverse plethora of dining spots less than a mile south. One of the perks of living in Polaris North is the location and proximity to Polaris Fashion Place. The two-level shopping mall is located to the south and opened in 2001. "There are so many restaurants in the Polaris area as well as shopping opportunities, and there's a lot of new home construction because of it," says Realtor Chris Reese, who sells houses in the neighborhood with Metro II Realty. The neighborhood draws a range of homebuyers, from those who are downsizing or want to dip into the real estate market with a starter condo to those who need a contemporary-style home with yard space for the long term. It’s a place where residents barbecue on their backyard patios while their children jump on trampolines. The neighborhood also offers direct access to major thoroughfares, simplifying the commute.

The Gemini Place Towne Center is on the neighborhood's south end. Residents can walk to it. The shopping center includes options like Burlington, Hobby Lobby, Costco and Carfagna's, an Italian market. Gemini Place also has franchise restaurants like Chili's, Panda Express and Torchy's Tacos. Immediately south of Gemini Road, Polaris Fashion Place has retailers like Macy's, Big Sandy Superstore and Rangoli – The Indian Market. The center's restaurants include Kura Revolving Sushi Bar and Mitchell's Steakhouse, which boasts a chic interior and prime cuts of meat. "I just closed on a house in that area; that was a big selling point to the buyer, was that it was close to Polaris Fashion Place and the new outlet mall," Reese says. Just south of Polaris Parkway, Polaris Towne Center has retailers like Best Buy, T.J. Maxx, Kroger, Target and Lowes. An IKEA is just east of Interstate 71.
