Midcentury homes just outside Downtown Concord
Situated just north of downtown Concord, Glenbrook Heights offers quiet, suburban living with easy access to shopping and dinning. Its leafy, residential streets are within walking or biking distance of Mt. Diablo High School, John Muir Health Concord Medical Center and Todos Santos Plaza, the city’s central park. “There’s a ton of community events that happen at Todos Santos Plaza. There’s a farmer’s market and a summer concert series that brings out a lot of people,” says Realtor Jill Cherne of Keller Williams Realty, a longtime real estate professional who’s based in nearby Walnut Creek. The neighborhood sits between Port of Chicago Highway and State Route 242, making it well-situated for commuting around the East Bay.

Relative affordability in the East Bay
Glenbrook Heights is filled with ranch style homes, most of which date back to the 1950s and 60s. The streets are lined with sidewalks, landscaped yards and plenty of mature trees and California flora. Lot sizes are modest, typically coming in around 8,000 square feet. Some homes have been upgraded, while others may need some work. “There have been some really great rehabs out there and other homes have been left standing in time,” Cherne says. Single-family homes range from $500,000 to $750,000, putting it slightly lower than the city’s median, though prices have risen 13% in the past year. “When it comes to prices, it’s a good entry point into the East Bay housing market,” Cherne says.
Glenbrook Heights is very dog-friendly.
