Suburban Neighborhood in Ohio
Summit County 44203, 44320, 44321
Spacious lots, a solid school system, and a quaint lifestyle are just a few reasons locals call the township of Copley home. Exploring the area, you will see farmlands and quiet suburban roadways.
The township contains many housing styles dating from the mid-20th century to more recent houses built over the last five years. "Homes in Copley are mostly Colonials; however, there are some ranches and a few split levels," says Erin Johnson, a Realtor with eXp Realty. Most properties sit on at least half of an acre, while some expand past two acres, offering spacious elbow room for locals. Johnson says potential homebuyers can expect houses in Copley to range between $108,000 to $757,000, with an average price of around $365,000.
Several public school systems serve young Copley locals, yet most attend Copley-Fairlawn Schools District, which earned an overall A on Niche. While attending Arrowhead Primary Elementary, each student will have the chance to use the onsite Nature Zone twice a month, which includes a berry garden, science stations and a chicken coop! These young ones may move on to Copley-Fairlawn Middle, open to fifth to eighth graders. The public middle school receives an A rating on Niche. Parents may also choose the local private school, Spring Garden Waldorf School, which educates kindergarten to eighth graders. According to Niche, the nearby Copley High is the third-best public secondary school in Summit County. Sometimes, the high school will often act as a second location for community events, such as concerts, during inclement weather.
When the weather is fair, locals will likely head to Copley Circle Park, or the larger Copley Community Park. At over 80 acres, the community park hosts summertime Movies in the Park, Halloween in the Park, and the Winter Festival. When the community isn't gathering for public events, locals still enjoy the baseball diamonds, soccer fields, walking trails and playgrounds. During the winter, residents will go sledding on the hill and ice skate on the frozen pond. Although Copley doesn't have sidewalks, residents will soon have the opportunity to leisurely stroll along the Ridgewood Road Trail, which is currently under development.
Copley is conveniently located for retail therapy just a few miles away. "Most locals will shop at Montrose, where there are all sorts of groceries stores, Walmart, Sam's Club and clothing retailers," says Realtor Johnson. This commercial destination is less than five miles north along S. Cleveland Massillon Road. Although the area has several fast-food chains, residents can still sample the local flavors. Realtor Johnson suggests Cafe Bricco, serving up Italian fare less than 5 miles away on W. Market Street. And a little closer to home is Firehouse Tavern, where you can order from the tap while enjoying casual eats such as burgers, sandwiches, and wings.
To the south is Winery at Wolf Creek, a local gem that has operated for 30 years. Here, you can cuddle with cute goats or bring your furry companion to the Yappy Hour on Tuesday nights. And the establishment is BYOF, bring your own food. For those looking to explore, significant interstates surround the community, so it's just 15 minutes to Akron and 30 minutes to Cleveland before a quick return home to Copley.
