Where professionals prioritize amenities and comfort
Since the country has seen a shift in how and where people work, professionals prioritize where they live differently. Rather than buying a home simply because it's close to the office, more and more people are selecting homes based on amenities, conveniences and beautiful surroundings. Pine Ridge is a neighborhood that offers all three. Under the Florida sun, residents of Pine Ridge can easily reach the parks and recreation options that the city of Coral Springs is known for. Lizards and native birds inhabit the tall palm trees that run along the area's main roads, bringing residents to shopping centers, good schools and lakeside views. "Pine Ridge puts you near all kinds of restaurants, canals for fishing and boating, shopping centers and movie theaters. It's a great neighborhood for families to enjoy life," says Karla Laporte, a Realtor with RE/MAX Select Group. While homes are more expensive than other areas of the city, they're worth the price for everything that comes along with them in the relaxed but happening atmosphere.
Families move here specifically for the education
Access to well-rated schools is one of the main reasons homebuyers are attracted to Coral Springs, "Homebuyers reach out to me specifically because they are looking to relocate to a neighborhood with good schools without the same price tag as other, more expensive spots," says Robert Zeoli, Realtor at EXP Realty LLC. Coral Park Elementary receives a B and offers special programs in art and music to help students develop their skills with fine arts. Located in the northeastern end of the neighborhood, the school is within walking distance for many young residents. Forest Glen Middle, also a B-rated school, participates in the Advanced International Certificate of Education program through the University of Cambridge. Students at Coral Springs High, another B school, can join over 30 clubs, from poetry club to student yearbook to Future Farmers of America group.
Swimming pools overlooking views of the canals
Single-family homes in Pine Ridge are comfortable, usually with four or five bedrooms reaching 3,000 square feet. Mediterranean and Spanish Revivals with red-tiled roofs and earth-toned stucco siding are popular on the sunny streets. The ranch-style homes have pitched roofs that allow for high vaulted ceilings. Featuring front-facing, two-car garages, nearly every house in the neighborhood has an outdoor travertine patio with a swimming pool and waterfront view. Many homes have been renovated recently and sell anywhere from $625,000 to $1 million. Townhouses and condos border the outer edges of the neighborhood, ranging in price from the low $200,000s to the high $400,000s. The smaller, less expensive dwellings have community swimming pools and grounds that are well-kept by their associated HOAs.
Everything under the sun
With the motto of "Everything Under the Sun," Coral Springs has no shortage of outdoor destinations for its residents to exercise. In Pine Ridge is Jaycee Park. This 10-acre green space is an excellent place for a tennis match. With swings and jungle gyms, youngsters will feel included, too. Its pavilions, picnic tables, charcoal grills and large, open field make Jaycee Park a great location for birthday parties or a neighborhood softball game. To the north of the neighborhood, Liberty Park has a splash pad for cooling off in the summer and an enclosed space for dogs to run free.
Home to one of the best restaurants in the city
Locals will come across many shopping centers, including Coral Square, by following University Drive south. Grocery stores, retail outlets and chain restaurants are along the main road. Still, two smaller plazas are at the corner of Pine Ridge. Pine Ridge Square and Royal Eagle Plaza have a Fresh Market, Ulta, Hobby Lobby, Marshalls and Aldi that fulfill most necessities. Dyan's Country Kitchen is also in the square. This diner-style eatery has been voted one of the best restaurants in Coral Springs and serves hot meals quickly, such as their well-known eggs benedict. The pastries and bagels are out of this world, often selling out before they close each day.
Main roads for getting around
Bordered by Sawgrass Expressway and University Drive, Pine Ridge has convenient access to the remainder of Coral Springs and the surrounding cities of Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale. Broward County Transit has buses that run throughout the city streets and are free of charge. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is the closest passenger airport, about 30 miles southeast.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
